I didn't start watching the show as soon as it came out mainly because I hadn't even heard of it, unfortunately PLL hasn't been and still isn't advertised here over in the UK. (Correct me if I'm wrong but I know I have never seen any advertisement for it here) I visited America last year I actually got very excited to see the show being advertised a lot.
The way I actually found out about the show was from Twitter. I'm a huge Glee fan and so I follow a lot of people that are fans of Glee too and I started to see all these people tweet about PLL and decided to check out the show.
I didn't really know if it was my kind of show or anything so I was a bit dubious at first but as soon as I watched the first episode I was hooked.
There were two things about the show that really stood out to me personally and made me connect with the show and they were that these four girls (Emily, Spencer, Hannah and Aria ) had lost their friend, she had been missing for a while now and I have personally been through something like that, losing a friend, so it was something I could relate to. The second thing that stood out to me personally and that I related to was Emily's storyline of her sexuality and coming out as a lesbian. The writers of PLL approached Emily's storyline so well and Shay Mitchell who plays Emily has done and still is doing an amazing job with portraying the character!
I have thought for a long time that Jason was A but after these two previous episodes that have aired it seems less likely that that that is true. And when I think about it now, the reasons that I have for Jason being A do seem to be pretty obvious and the shows writers are way too smart for that. I have though always thought that Spencer's dad was up to something or keeping something hidden from everyone and this has been proven in the previous episodes. So for now Spencer's dad is the one to watch out for.
Lastly, one track from PLL that is amazing, that everyone should check out is a song called 'Never get to heaven' by Sarah Blaine from episode 'Whirly Girlie' [5x02]
